Clare of Assisi : A Living Flame of Love

By: John Desmond O'Brien

I used the image of Paul Simon's "Dangling Conversation". This expresses the way we so often fail to meet each other or God. Clare, by her openness, came to know God and in her spiritual friendship brought others into that space where they could find God and themselves. A new conversation was opened up between God and the broken....

Puppets Of Faith : Theory of Communal Strife

By: BS Murthy

Terrorism could be the heading of the running chapter in human history though strife had always been its grand title. Assorted terrorist groups to espouse their parochial causes have come to target their ideological opponents with utter cynicism. At least they have an articulated grievance and identified opponents with defined terror zones that are amenable for containment and redressal and or both at some stage or the other. But what of the jihadi terrorism and how is it that the western-educated, non-conformist, Muslim youth all over, not to speak of the fresh converts from other faiths get attracted to fight for Islam and die for it? It matters little where we live in this wide world, and one being a Musalman is no guarantee either to escape being its victim. Its madness might reduce us to a statistic of the dead or injured in tomorrow's newspaper headline in today's fidayeen attack. If left unabated it might one day engulf all of us in the Third World War. And thus the significance of any exercise aimed at improving our understanding of the involved issues cannot be overemphasized. Possibly in a new non-fiction genre, this th...

Pitfalls of Faith If the ecstasy of the Quran is the soul of Islam, the legend of Muhammad is the mind of the Musalman. The exalted sense of his pedigree could have made Muhammad fiercely honest, even in the state of deprivation. It is to be appreciated that neither his insignificance as an orphan affected his self-worth nor his poverty dented his self-esteem. While nature endowed him with a shrewd mind his destiny seems to have helped him cultivate a sense of purpose. Though unlettered, he obviously possessed native intelligence, and thus was alive to every opportunity that came his way. Above all, at some stage at least, he seems to have developed an unwavering faith in his own destiny. As can be seen, he was an uncanny man manager and mob manipulator extraordinary. His exemplary personal courage in battle enabled him lead by example, and this single character of his played no mean a part in the battles his faithful fought to raise the standard of Islam in the nations of the world. Though he grew up in an environment of sentimentality, he imbibed a balanced outlook that his stint as the Czar of Medina turned into statesmanship. ...

What is Truth?: Vav Edition

By: Benjamin Lee Cooper

If you have doubts about how authentic the Bible is, or if God really had it written for us, or if you want to know how the Bible came to us, or if you have deeper curiosities about mathematics, languages that influenced the Bible, or the history relating to the Bible, then this book is for you....

What is the measuring device that says what writings get to be part of the Bible? Do individual people get to tell God “These are the writings I think should be in the Bible, and so these writings are the only thing I need to base my spiritual life on.”? Do you think God is going to accept that? Do you think we get to choose whatever instructions we want to obey from God but we can throw out whatever ones we want and say they are not part of the Bible? Do Corporations or Church denominations get to tell people “We decided that this stack of writings here on this table is all you need to obey, everything else doesn't matter for your spiritual life because we said so, and God will follow what we bind up here on earth.”? Do you think God is going to accept that? Who then gets to decide what writings or books are part of the Bible that we should use as an example to live by? Do I get to decide for everyone? No, No I don't. Who then? I believe that only Yehovah God himself gets to decide, and has decided........

The Pendragon : A Short Story in the Sermon of Black

By: Siris Kane; John Saltz O'Huigin

This is a sermon designed to show the true nature of righteousness and how it effects those to whom we label as outcast.

It is said by none other than, Jesus, that we are the sheep. Interestingly, a first born sheep is called a Firstling. With this I call you back to whom it was that Abel killed, it was in fact—the firstlings. So if we are the sheep, and a firstborn sheep is called a firstling, then it only stands to reason that it was, Kane (original Sumerian spelling), who was attacked by Abel....

666 The Mark of the Beast : REV 13.16

By: Ms. Rochelle A Laura

This is how to understand the code in the bible of Revelations of WWII and Jesus and thermonuclear radiation

Six hundred threescore and six is the process of Nuclear bombardment of the Uranium atom. The reference of the Dragon of the precious chapter (12) is of Hiroshima Japan (also Nagasaki). The next chapter (13) refers to how it happened on the atomic scale or visually through the POWERS OF TEN: 600 (the outer realm-mankind) 60 (down into the atomic world)-6 (atomic level)....

Each of us is given grace according to the measure of Christ. For this reason he ascended on high, he led captivity gave gifts to. That is why it is up only because they descended into the lower parts of the earth. He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And the same one granted that some would be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. ST PAUL ...

Christian Myths?: 3rd Edition

By: Benjamin Lee Cooper

My other books are books that do not deal with much doctrine, whereas this book debunks most of the treasured doctrines of most of Christianity. This book helps the reader to discern some false doctrines among Christianity....

This book is not meant to pick on or make fun of christians. I am saved (born again) and have been since I was five years old. In this book I am going to assume that you have read my book “What is Truth?”. It is not required that you read it, but in that book I cover the major myths like the Aramaic Myth, the Evolution religion, the Nephilim Myth, and many other topics to help the reader to be able to Trust God's Bible, and to know that it is the truth. If you have not read “What is Truth?”, and you are not sure about the accuracy of the Bible, or if you still believe the Aramaic Myth about the Bible, then I suggest that you read my free book “What is Truth?” before reading this book. So in this book I will assume that you trust God's word, and the accuracy of his Bible, and that you know what version is the best. The serpent wants Christians to live in fear and ignorance, and many of the myths I am addressing in this book has cause many Christians much stress, fear, sorrow, or has given them false hopes which could lead to big disappointments. Hopefully God can use this book to free at least some Christians from these things while ...

A Good God : The Human Mind Bears any Heaven and any Hell

By: José Valteno Dos Santos; Carolina Coimbra, Editor

Many gods there are, for whom have eyes to see; in the East and in the West. Dead gods - Mayans, Incas, Aztecs and others; living gods charging dearly for their promises of gifts, and so many gods who are forged at all times and will forged. Here rises this good god, in everything compatible with his powers (omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient) and the expectations of his offspring. Truly, a god is born here who does not need to be evil in order to do good; does not use evil as the reason for his existence and projection, for so much since the first tracings did not allow that the evil inhabited in his circumscription. This is a truly wise god - nor did he let evil come into being. ...

Sundara Kanda

By: BS Murthy

If Mahabharata's Bhagvad-Gita is taken as a philosophical guide, Ramayana's Sundara Kãnda is sought for spiritual solace. What is more, many believe that reading Sundara Kãnda or hearing it recited would remove all hurdles and usher in good tidings! Well miracles apart, it's in the nature of Sundara Kãnda to inculcate fortitude and generate hope in one and all. After all, isn't it a depiction of how Hanuman goes about his errand against all odds! Again, won't it portray how Seetha, on the verge of selfimmolation, overcomes despair to see life in a new light? Besides, how Hanuman's Odyssey paves the way for Rama to rescue his kidnapped wife! One is bound to be charmed by the rhythm of the verse and the flow of the narrative in this sloka to sloka transcreation of Valmiki's adi kavya - the foremost poetical composition in the world. After all, it was the saga of Rama that inspired Valmiki the barbarian to spiritualize the same as Ramayana in classical Sanskrit!...

Learning Hebrew From Genesis: Dalet Edition

By: Benjamin Lee Cooper

This is a full grammar teaching of "Biblical" Hebrew from a fluent author in a very unique style. The vocabulary words are specifically selected based on the common words in Genesis chapters 1-4, and the words that are used in the Bible more than 500 times, along with all of the prepositions and other necessary grammar words. I do not believe in asking a student to memorize a word that is used less than 20 times in the Bible, just because it is in Genesis. I do not believe in putting lots of exercises for the student to practice or test themselves with, but instead I ask the student to practice with flashcards and to do their own reading and writing before each lesson. This reduces the size of this book because I don't need an answer section or 2 pages of exercises for each chapter. I do not include a glossary because I have wrote a separate free Hebrew Dictionary 'Counting Roots'. Once a student finishes this book, they will be able to continue learning vocabulary from the rest of the Torah until they are fluent....

1.2 Should I learn Modern or Biblical? The first thing you must decide is if it would be “Modern Hebrew” or “Biblical Hebrew” that you want to learn. Modern Hebrew is not the original Hebrew of creation, its not the original Hebrew of the Garden of Eiden, and its not the original Hebrew that Noach, Avraham, and Yaaqov spoke. There are some added and removed grammar aspects, and many added words that are not in the Biblical Hebrew. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in Israel, then maybe you should learn Modern Hebrew to speak it there. If you will be spending a lot of time reading and studying the Tanakh, then you should probably learn Biblical Hebrew. I don't recommend that you learn both Modern and Biblical at the same time. This is because of the grammar, spelling, and vocabulary differences, you will probably confuse the two often. I suggest that you first master one, then start to learn the other. Start with the one that you need the most first. People who speak Modern Hebrew, and who also can read the Bible, do not differentiate the two languages usually. They think of the Bible as being an outdated form of the la...

Young Nephi, with the help of his brothers, builds his ship: (Excerpt) And it came to pass that they did worship the Lord, and did go forth with me; and we did work timbers of curious workmanship. And the Lord did shew me from time to time, after what manner I should work the timbers of the ship. Now I, Nephi, did not work the timbers after the manner which was learned by men, neither did I build the ship after the manner of men; but I did build it after the manner which the Lord had shewn unto me; wherefore, it was not after the manner of men. And I, Nephi, did go into the mount oft, and I did pray oft unto the Lord; wherefore, the Lord shewed unto me great things. And it came to pass that after I had finished the ship according to the word of the Lord, my brethren beheld that it was good, and that the workmanship thereof was exceeding fine; wherefore, they did humble themselves again before the Lord. And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came unto my father, that we should arise and go down into the ship.- And it came to pass that on the morrow, after that we had prepared all things, much fruits and meat from t...

Song of Songs of Solomon: A Poetic Interpretation

By: Lindsay Falvey, Ph.D.

The Song of Songs [of Solomon] (שִׁיר הַשִּׁירִים Šîr haŠîrîm, ᾎσμα ᾎσμάτων Aisma Aismatōn, Cantĭcum Canticōrum) is a poetic courtship that moves from enchantment to consummation. Devoid of religiosity, it has traditionally been understood as metaphor for the relationship of the soul with the Divine – of God with Israel – of Christ with the Church – of Christ with the human soul – or humanistically, as a metaphor for psychological integrity. In his 12th century sermon, ‘On the Title of the Book: The Song of Songs’, St. Bernard of Clairvaux’s meditative reading followed the book of Ecclesiastes, which teaches ‘how to … have done with the false promise of this world’, and the book of Proverbs that enlightens ‘your life and your conduct’. He called these two preliminary books antidotes to the two enemies of the soul – ‘misguided love of the world and an excessive love of self’, and he observed that only ‘the mind disciplined by persevering study’ is made ‘ripe … for nuptial union with the divine partner’. His spiritual marriage between the heavenly Bridegroom and the human bride occurs when the two become one, and that one is the ...
