William Blake & Jacob Boehme : Imagination, Experience & the Limitations of Experience: Imagination, Experience & the Limitations of Experience

By: Dr. Kevin Fischer

An exploration of the vital importance of imagination and experience, as exemplified in the works of William Blake and Jacob Boehme. This paper is based on a lecture given at the Temenos Academy London, and published in the Temenos Academy Review 20 (2017)....

Boehme wrote of his works that ‘a Man’s Reason, without the light of God, cannot come into the Ground [of them], it is impossible, let his wit be ever so high and subtle, it apprehends but as it were the Shadow of it in a Glass’.17 As Blake wrote in Jerusalem, when ‘the Reasoning Power in Man’ is ‘separated/From Imagination,’ it encloses ‘itself as in steel, in a Ratio/Of the Things of Memory’....

K's Bhoomika

By: Manohar Asija

Having lost her mother, and virtually rendered `orphan`, in the absence of `father`, a little girl Named Bhoomika, by dint of sheer circumstances, happens to reach a virgin teacher. Here, the `blessed opportunity for education` awaits her, as she is inspired and guided by this benevolent lady towards higher education. Once, she was offered a part-time job of `a reader for a blind class-fellow` of hers at Khadi Degree College, Guhahati: and she gladly accepted it. Of course, some nascent opportunities came to her, even in Delhi, when she was staying in a Working Women’s Hostel, while doing some odd jobs to support self, economically. But the travails of life also came her way; and she coped up with every sort of situation, by way of `fine-tuning` the responses from her brain and heart, every time, with an objective to attaining a quality decision from within. Having once been requested by very senior colleague to stay with one spinster Professor, during her illness, she served the lady so dutifully that the Professor persistently requested her to live with her till the young girl is married off. Having attained some extraordinary ...

"In fact, I had never spoken to her even a single word, though she continued to send me signals for initiating a dialogue with her. I had to go to fetch my daily quota of water from the water-tap, provided at the back of her tenement, for all the four segments, in the vicinity. Almost every time, we had to place our buckets or utensils, in a queue, while waiting for our turn. Being shy of passing through the front lane, while approaching the water-tap, I preferred to walk along the back of the segment, in our front. God knows, how she could spot me from such a long distance that I had come out of my room, with buckets in my hands. Quite often, I marked her busy in looking towards me with furtive glances, while waiting for her turn, as she would deliberately waste her time, simply to ignore the fact of my arrival there and would thus make room for me to place my buckets before hers.” .......... It pains him to recall his last meeting with that `unfortunate girl`, who was destined to spend a spinster's life and breathe her last, while resting her head at Bihari's knee, who kept caressing her forehead, in the presence of her trusted ...

Babbitt 2 : Based on Public Domain Characters Created by Sinclair Lewis

By: Timmy Spabe; Sinclair Lewis, Co-Author

Satan has escaped from hell and the city of Zenith and the state of Winnemac are in grave danger. George Babbitt and an unlikely group of heroes must rise up against the dark lord of evil to not only save the future of humanity, but the sould of Babbitt himself. Working from recently discovered notes supposedly from the pen of Sinclair Lewis, 12 year old Timmy Spabe has crafted a new adventure that surpasses the original in every way....

“What are you talking about?” Babbitt gasped as he and the others stared in horror at Cilantro. as he sat down heavily on the couch.  “In the year 1930, the state of Winnemac and all cities and people within cease to exist and all memories of this place will be wiped from both history and the minds of those who live in my era.” “Pardon my use of obscenity,” Howard said breathlessly. “But what the heck?” Cilantro frowned.  “The only things that are known of Winnemac and it's people's are found in the writings of Sinclair Lewis that the people of my time see as works of fiction.” “From what year do you come?” asked Ted warily.  “I come from the 21st century.”...

Bare Liberty

By: Matt R. Erickson

As these proud and once-prosperous United States of America continue in tragic decline, Mark Evanston leaps back into action in the third and final installment of the Bald Justice series, Bare Liberty. Working with his colleagues at the Patriot Corps, Mark continues on with his Patriot Quest to eliminate government tyranny, once and for all. Mark routs out evil where it lurks most prevalently, within our monetary system which was cleverly separated from the gold and silver coin which is otherwise required by our U.S. Constitution. By understanding precisely how our government is able to ignore the Constitution with impunity, Mark soon devises his proposed cure, his Once and For All Amendment. Bare Liberty provides the solid rationale for proposing and ratifying a new constitutional amendment in story form, to close the constitutional loophole which has always allowed government to act in all cases whatsoever, to act everywhere except where they are expressly prohibited from acting. By Building Awareness of Republican Knowledge, the Patriot Corps is able to help Restore Our American Republic. By individually learning to B.A.R.K...

“I have to admit, my first killing shocked me,” Terry admitted. “Not because it was so hard, but actually because it was so easy and even more so because it was thrilling. Total dominion over someone else is very intoxicating, so much better than alcohol, drugs, or even sex. Actually, it was even better killing someone who had willingly just given me great sex only hours earlier, who now welcomed me back, only for me to then kill her.” “Your first killing?” Mark was able to get out, before figuring out that Terry must have also killed Stan Bogelman and Mike Holladay. “I can see you now realize that I also killed Stan and Mike, as well as your sex double Art Black down in California, after your investigators began closing in on him,” Terry offered. “And now I see you finally understand that I’m telling you all this so I can get a bigger thrill out of killing you next.” Mark had no time to try and process that information, but simply react, more aggressively than he had ever acted in his lifetime. Mark sprinted the few yards toward Terry with all the speed and determination he could possible muster, but Terry was easily able t...

Base Tyranny

By: Matt R. Erickson

Base Tyranny is the second book in a fiction series (following Bald Justice), looking at our monetary history of gold and silver coin, transitioning into legal tender paper currencies....

Gordon Radcliff’s plan was ironically rooted in America’s extensive seacoast defense system. On March 17, 1861, two weeks after the necessary two-thirds of Congress had sent the proposed 13th Amendment to the States for ratification and a week after the Confederate States of America approved emitting bills of credit directly, Gordon Radcliff attended a family reunion and dinner. Originally Gordon had planned to skip the reunion, so he could continue to concentrate on his work, to come up with some plan to move things forward. It was only after the ever-persistent nagging by his mother that he dutifully decided at the last minute to attend the function. If his mother only knew the ultimate cost of that nagging, she would have never enticed her son to attend. If she knew then the devastation her son would help instigate and his ‘reward’ for bringing it to his mentor’s attention, she would have taken far more drastic action than simply avoid nagging her son. After dinner, Gordon patiently listened, along with several other family members, to his patriotic cousin ramble on continuously about his second year of engineering s...

Endowed with the personality that always remains inclined towards the truest secularism, I cannot afford to prefer one religion over the other. Therefore, it is not a difficult task for me to interact with a person of any faith. I cannot skip from my tract of `humanity before religion`. Being a firm believer in the existence of a `Supreme Power`, denoted by a variety of nomenclatures, I can adjust with followers of any mainstream of faiths. Even an atheist or an agnostic would not be treated as hostile at my hands, because I perceive every person as a human being before anything else. Nevertheless, it would be safer to understand me if the person keeps in mind that I am exposed to only those mainstreams of religion as practised in India. The Principles of Life (dear to my heart): (Formed on the basis of The experience derived through interaction since the childhood, with my parents, siblings, other kin around, my teachers, friends, schoolmates; later on with my pupils, my colleagues, friends, neighbours, co-travellers in a public transport, my clients and my colleagues at Bar and last but not the least my friends at coffee house...

Shodasi : Secrets of the Ramayana

By: Seshendra Sharma

* * * Valmiki Ramayana – Greatest Medicine for Mankind The story of Ramayana is prescribed as textbook for students. Sita and Rama are worshiped as prime couple. No need to mention about reciting it. Whether Valmiki was satisfied with simple narration of the story? Seshendra Sharma denies it. He analyzed it mentioning that to understand the inner meanings of Valmiki Ramayana, the scientific knowledge is essential. The underlying secret of the sage’s mind will be known through the knowledge of science. It is the firm opinion of Seshendra that the argument that “the sciences are for scholars only” is a conspiracy hatched by Selfish scholars and lazy uneducated persons. Seshendra who has democratic ideology and conviction on science and literature informs the public about the secrets of Ramayana expounded by Valmiki. He explains that Valmiki dedicated ambrosia (The Greatest Medicine) named “Kundalini Yoga” to the mankind. The poetry in the metre of Anushtup Sloka is the honey coating to the medicine. It was explained with great introspection and exemplary scholarship. He concludes that the Ramayana is older than the M...

Sri Sundara Kanda is nothing but Kundalini yoga Many great secrets that are most venerable are given in Srimad Ramayana. Therefore, it became a sacred text which is daily read as a ritual. It would not have been elevated to such level if it were only a narration of a story. We do not read Manu Charitra* daily as a ritual. We do not consider that book as a means of achieving salvation. That is the difference between these two books. The great secrets in Ramayana are the most helpful to all seekers of salvation. It is so because Ramayana has Gayatri Mantra and Kundalini Yoga which are revealed in the Sundara Kanda. The very first verse of this Kaanda gives indication of that subject. The initial seven verses are like the head of this Kanda. The first verse is: ‘Tato Raavananeetaayaah Seetaayaah satrukarsanah iyesha padam anweshtum chaaranaa charite pathi’. It means;’ (Hanuman) who is a terror to the enemy decided to travel along the path which is followed by Charanas in search of Sita who was taken away by Ravana’. That is the meaning....
