Today, the term refers to Daejeon, Sejong City, South Chungcheong Province and North Chungcheong Provinces. Hoseo people use Chungcheong dialect. The name is often used to refer to people residing in the region. Nowadays chungcheong is more frequently used instead of Hoseo.
