CarBay is an online autoportal, which started in March 2015 in various countries. The portal is a global expansion of CarDekho owned by Girnarsoft Pvt Ltd.[1]

History

Carbay was founded in India in 2015. Company launched its auto portals in 25 different countries under name CarBay.com in March 2015. It has officially announced to start operations in emerging markets of South Asia: Indonesia,[2] Malaysia , Thailand,[3] Philippines and Vietnam.[4]

All auto portals in 25 countries have mobile sites for mobile users, which were launched in March 2015 along with websites.

Funding

GirnarSoft was valued at US$300 million [5] when it raised series B funding this past January. The company is backed by investors like Sequoia Capital, Hong Kong-based Hillhouse Capital, and Tybourne Capital. CarDekho raised $50 million in series B.[6] Carbay is funded by CarDekho to expand its operation in South Asia. Carbay is looking for acquisition in South Asia.[7]

Mobile App

Carbay has silently launched its android app for car research in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand.[8] iOS app is also present in all five countries.
