Panamá is a province of Panama. It contains the national capital Panama City, which also serves as its provincial capital. The governor of the province is Rafael Pino Pinto, appointed by President Varela and sworn in on 4 July 2014.[1]

The province currently comprises six districts. The five former districts west of the Panama Canal were split off to form Panama Oeste Province on 1 January 2014.[2]
