Shafiq Syed

Shafiq Syed is an Indian rickshaw driver and former actor. At the age of twelve he starred in the 1988 Academy Award-nominated film Salaam Bombay!, for which he received the 1989 National Film Award for Best Child Artist.[1] Syed now lives in Bangalore, where he is hoping to make an autobiographical film.

Autobiographical story

In May 2012, it was reported that Syed had written his life's story, running into 180 pages. "I have...titled it After Salaam Bombay" he said. "Hope someone will take it up for production".[2]
