Alfonso Petersen

Alfonso Petersen Farah (born 2 February 1961) is an educated medical doctor and politician, who served as Mayor of Guadalajara from 2007 to 2009.

He studied medicine at the LaSalle University and the National Autonomus University of Mexico. He served as Jalisco state health secretary.[1] In July 2006, he was elected Mayor of Guadalajara, representing the National Action Party, assuming office on 31 December 2006.[2] During the 2009 flu pandemic, Petersen took the reins after resigning Jalisco state health secretary Alfonso Gutierrez Carranza in October 2009, relinquishing his Mayoral duties in the process.[3]
