Early years

Cooper attended Miami Northwestern High School in Miami, Florida, where he played football, basketball and ran track. As a junior, he was one of Teddy Bridgewater's primary targets and had 16 catches for 175 yards and four scores. As a senior, he had 33 receptions for 722 yards. He was considered the sixth best wide receiver recruit by Rivals.com.[2]

College career

As a freshman in 2012, Cooper finished the regular season with 53 receptions for 895 yards and nine touchdowns.[3] In the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, Cooper returned to Miami, where he played high school football, and led all Alabama receivers with 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. On September 20, 2014 Cooper set new career highs in both receptions and a yards in a victory against the University of Florida. Cooper had ten receptions for 201 yards, the first wide receiver to do so since Julio Jones in 2010.[4] He also set a new mark for career touchdown receptions at Alabama with his 19th and 20th touchdowns, surpassing the previous record of 18 held by Dennis Homan.[5] Cooper broke his reception record against Tennessee on October 25, with 224 yards.[6]
