Arty (born Artyom Stolyarov (Russian: Артём Столяро́в, pronounced ) on 28 September 1989 in Engels) is a Russian EDM producer and DJ.[1]

In 2009, Arty released his first production at the age of 19. His EP Vanilla Sky appeared on the label Enhanced Progressive and brought him to the attention of several DJs. His single "Bliss" appeared on tracklisting of A State Of Trance with Armin van Buuren in early 2010 and his breakthrough came later that year when Above & Beyond signed him on their label Anjunabeats. They featured his singles Rush and The Wonder in their club sets and on their radio show Trance Around the World. In 2011 he released Zara, his third single on the Anjunabeats label.

Before 2011, Arty was also known as Alpha 9, and released 2 tracks with that title: Bliss (2009) and Come Home (2010), both with Flashover Recordings.

In 2011 Arty collaborated with Mat Zo, another artist signed to Anjunabeats formerly known for his drum and bass work. Their first joint production Rebound was released on 19 April 2011 as the 200th single of Anjunabeats.[2] The song was voted Webvote Winner on three straight occasions in the radio show Trance Around the World.[3] At the anniversary party ASOT 500 of Armin van Buuren's radio show A State of Trance on 9 April 2011 in Den Bosch the two DJs played on the Main Floor along some well established DJs such as Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, and Armin himself.[4]

Since 2011, Arty has a monthly residency on the radio show Anjunabeats Worldwide. On 11 April 2011, the compilation Anjunabeats Worldwide 03 was released, co-produced by him and Daniel Kandi.

Awards & Recognition

In 2010, Arty appeared in the well renowned Top 100 DJs selection of DJ Magazine,[5] where he appeared at 78th. In 2011 Arty climbed 53 spots to position 25 on the list,[6] but moved down three spots in 2012 to take 28th.[7] At the International Dance Music Awards 2011 he was nominated in the category Best Break-Through DJ. However, the award went to Afrojack.[8] In 2012, Arty was nominated twice for the IDMA's in the category for Best Trance Track for his collaboration with Paul van Dyk: The Ocean, and his collaboration with BT and Nadia Ali: This Must Be The Love.[9] In 2013, he ranked 57th in the DJ Mag Top 100, and in 2014, he also made the list at #99, despite having a quiet year.

Together We Are Radio Show

The Together We Are radio show airs on Sirius XM Radio channel BPM, and highlights Arty's favorite mixes. He will sometimes play a segment from a live-set of his instead or have a guest mix from another artist such as Audien, Walden, and Morten Breum. The show usually lasts an hour. His latest show was "Episode 081" as of 19 April 2014.[10]

Together We Are Podcast

Arty hosts an hour long monthly podcast that is available on iTunes for free download. The show began airing on 9 October 2012, and much like his radio show, features Arty's favorite tracks and mixes. His 5th and latest podcast was released on 1 February 2013 as of 21 February 2013.[11]
