The Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB) (basketball clubs of the Liga ACB, the highest tier level of the sport in Spain. It is headquartered in the city of Barcelona.

History

The constitution of the ACB was formalized on March 3, 1982, in Liga ACB, which was called the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto before the ACB took over the competition. Eduardo Portela has chaired the ACB since 1990, and in 1991, he helped to establish ULEB (Union of European Leagues of Basketball), which is today also chaired by Portela. Both the ACB and ULEB are based in the city of Barcelona.
