Regional elections will be held in France on 6 and 13 December 2015. At stake are the presidencies of the Regions of France. There are 18 of them: 12 on continental France, plus Corsica and 5 overseas. Though they do not have legislative autonomy, these territorial collectivities manage sizeable budgets. Moreover, regional elections are often taken as a mid-term opinion poll.
The ballot will be ruled according to the "LOI n° 2015-29 du 16 janvier 2015 relative à la délimitation des régions, aux élections régionales et départementales et modifiant le calendrier électoral". Legifrance.
