Jafar Shafaghat (Persian: جعفر شفقت‎‎; c.1915 – September 2, 2000) was a General officer in the Iranian Pahlavi Army and was latest Minister of Defense in Shapour Bakhtiar government (1978 — 1979).[1] Jafar Shafaghat was of from the last governor of East Azerbaijan Province in the Pahlavi dynasty.
