This is a growing list of territorial Catholic dioceses and ordinariates. There are approximately 3,000 actual (i.e. disregarding titular ones) dioceses of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Catholic Churches.

Those dioceses which are (Metropolitan or nominal) Archdioceses are marked in bold type and are also separately listed at List of Roman Catholic archdioceses.
Those dioceses which belong to Eastern Catholic particular churches are italicized and their Churches and proper episcopal titulature are specified after the see name
missionary and other special circonscription types are also specified before the country
