Excerpt
Excerpt: Technology surveillance is an attempt to anticipate potential environmental problems that may result from mans activity and his technology. Technology surveillance is my term for technology forecasting for environmental health. The main utility of technology forecasting applied to this area, is that it puts in to perspective the different proposed technical options and allows the public health official time to assess the impact of this technology on environmental health. This activity, therefore, is both probabilistic and subjective at this stage of its development.
