Influenza activity, October 1987-February 1988' During the 1987-1988 season, influenza A(H3N2) viruses have been associated with outbreaks in China, the United States of America, and the USSR and have been isolated from sporadic cases in a few other counmes. Influenza B viruses have been isolated from outbreaks in Japan and the USSR, as well as from sporadic cases in several other counmes. Influenza A(HlN1) has been rare.
