Excerpt
Excerpt: Sales prospects in Hong Kong for textile products such as furnishings, curtains, sun blinds, bedding and carpets will remain bright in the next few years. Strong demand for these products will come from the fitting out of more new homes and hotel rooms in Hong Kong, Macau, and China. Property developers are building more hotel rooms in Hong Kong to meet the surge in demand from the new wave of Mainland Chinese tourists following the Chinese government?s introduction of the Individual Travel Scheme to Hong Kong and Macau in 2003. Tourist arrivals are also expected to rise with the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland in September 2005, creating more demand for hotel rooms. In Macau, several new hotel resorts cum casinos are being developed after the government liberalized the gaming market and granted three new gaming licenses in 2002.
