Excerpt: The Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requires agencies to review their information security program annually and Offices of Inspector General (OIGs) to conduct independent evaluations of those programs annually as well. Pursuant to FISMA, we evaluated the Census Bureau?s information security program in terms of its compliance with the act as well as with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requirements and the Department of Commerce?s IT security policy.
