Karen Smith is a freelance writer and editor who publishes fiction under the pseudonym of Holly Bargo. She lives on a hobby farm in southwest Ohio with her family and menagerie of four-legged critters. She has a B.A. degree in English from Wittenberg University.

As Holly Bargo, she has published 15 fiction books, as well as several short stories and nonfiction articles. She has served as the fantasy editor of Red Sun Magazine, which published fantasy, horror, and science fiction. As a freelance writer, Karen produces fiction and nonfiction for diverse clients. Projects span blogs for business, professional biographies, website content, books, newsletters, and short stories. She is the editor for the World Library Foundation's newsletter.
