The Goa cricket team has competed in the Ranji Trophy since the 1985-86 season. They lost all five matches in their first season,[1] and did not win until 1996-97, in their 56th match, when they defeated Karnataka by an innings.[2] As of early November 2013, Goa had played 144 times in the Ranji Trophy for 13 wins and 72 losses.[3]

The Goa cricket team is based in Goa, India. Its home grounds are the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Stadium, Margao and the District Institute of Education and Training Ground, Porvorim.
