Austin Herbert Woolrych (May 18, 1918-September 15, 2004) was an English historian, a specialist in the period of the English Civil War.

His education was interrupted by his family’s financial problems, and in the 1930s he worked in Harrods. After serving in the British Army in World War II, he studied at Pembroke College, Oxford, graduating B.A. and B.Litt. He then joined the history department at Leeds University.

In 1964 he became Professor of History at the newly founded University of Lancaster.
