Nigel Williams (broadcaster)

Nigel Williams, sometimes known as NJ Williams is British broadcaster and voice over artist.

Biography

After leaving the University of Surrey in 1983, he began his radio career at County Sound in Guildford.[1]

Later, he also broadcast on Radio City, Chiltern Radio, The Superstation, Virgin Radio, Magic 105.4 and London's Heart 106.2.[2]

At Heart 106.2 Williams presented Late Night Love Songs. The show featured true relationship stories sent in by listeners (Love Letters). Late Night Love Songs became the first show on the station to overtake Capital Radio as the market leader in London. Nigel is about to launch a new online service that will provide some of the elements that made Late Night Love Songs so popular.

Williams is currently the afternoon show presenter on Jazz FM.[3] In early 2013 he also presented the Breakfast Show on BBC Surrey.[4] He can also be seen DJing at Ronnie Scott's nightclub at 'The Funky Sensation' club nights.

As a voice-over artist, Williams has been heard on commercials for McDonalds, PC World, Shreddies, Cheerios, Lloyds TSB etc. He was the image voice for LWT and ITV from 1990 to 2004. He has been heard on LBC 97.3, LBC News 1152 and the Heart Network of radio stations.[5] He is currently the image voice of BBC Northampton, BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey and former TV channel Film 24. Nigel continues to work as a voice-over talent from his own studios in London. Recent work includes Cadbury and a controversial ad for the infidelity website Ashley Madison featured on the Howard Stern radio show. Nigel is also the voiceover artist for Compass FM for North East Lincolnshire

Personal life

Nigel lives in Ealing, West London. He is married and has two children, Antonia and Harry.
