Excerpt: Defoamer: The defoamer is to be used to reduce foaming which occurs in the rug shampooing operation by the Industrial Cleaning Section. The defoamer is used with the dry foam carpet shampoo cleaner (Property No. 219894) to maintain low foaming action from the cleaner which is used in Carpetron #18 Shampoo Machine manufactured by the Advance Floor Machine Co. The Shampoo Machine is a drum brush machine, (not a rotary disc machine). One to three ounces of the defoamer is placed in the recovery tank of the shampoo machine to maintain a low suds level in the recovered foam. One of the active ingredients shall be silicone.
