Excerpt
Excerpt: Washington, D.C.-The U.S. Government Printing Office’s partnership with America’s printing industry ensures taxpayers' dollars are used in the most cost-effective manner. Taxpayers aren’t the only ones who benefit from the partnership, private sector companies from coast to coast are reaping the benefits of doing business with the Federal Government. The GPO purchased about $450 million worth of printing and related services from thousands of printers across the country in Fiscal Year 2004 alone. “The GPO contracts out the vast majority of the work it produces to private sector printers all over the country, procuring between 600 and 1, 000 print-related projects a day. The contracts cover the entire spectrum of printing and publishing services and are available to fit almost any company from the largest to the smallest,” said Jim Bradley, Managing Director of GPO’s Customer Services.
