Excerpt: The Board of Education has approved an employee dress code policy for Department of Education employees. Board Policy 1100-7, Department of Education Dress Code Policy, was approved at the Board general business meeting on February 17, 2005. Board Policy 1100-7 applies to all Department of Education (DOE) employees, and not just to principals, teachers, and other school employees as some have thought. The Board policy states that the dress, grooming, and personal hygiene of each DOE employee shall be appropriate to the work situation for the following reasons:
