Excerpt
Excerpt: Kim Yong Nam, President of the D.P.R.K. Supreme People?s Assembly, paid an official goodwill visit to Thailand and Malaysia from February 28 to March 5. He led a 33-member delegation including Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun, Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Kwang Gun, President of the Academy of Sciences Ri Kwang Ho and others. This is the D.P.R.K?s highest-level delegation that has visited Thailand and Malaysia since Pyongyang established its diplomatic ties with these countries in 1975 and 1973, respectively. The visit came shortly after U.S. President George W. Bush toured Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing. And this was the second tour of this region by the leader of the Supreme People?s Assembly. He visited Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in July last year. In Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, Thai and Malaysian leaders expressed strong support for the inter-Korean dialogue and reunification, and bilateral agreements on various fields were signed.
