Description
The opening chapter revisits the June 15–16, 1970 labor movements in Türkiye, a milestone in the history of workers’ rights. By examining the constitutional guarantees of the 1961 Constitution, the militant stance of DİSK, and the state’s restrictive amendments, this study highlights how organized labor was able to influence political processes, even under repression. These events remain a powerful reminder that the defense of rights requires collective solidarity. The next chapter turns to the realm of international law, focusing on the International Criminal Court’s controversial arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin. Here, the challenges of applying international justice to powerful state leaders come to the fore, raising essential questions about the balance between legality and politics, and the ICC’s role in safeguarding humanity against the gravest crimes. The discussion continues with a public policy analysis of civil rights during John F. Kennedy’s presidency, situating the U.S. struggle against racial discrimination within the broader narrative of American democracy. Through Kennedy’s speeches, executive orders, and evolving public stance, the chapter reveals how political leadership can either reinforce or challenge deep-seated injustices. From the West, the book shifts focus to the East, tracing the formation of nationalism in China. By examining developments from the Yuan Dynasty to the early Republic, this study uncovers how external imperialist pressures, internal rebellions, and educational reforms transformed discontent into a nationalist spirit. The chapter offers valuable insights into the historical roots of contemporary Chinese identity and its sociopolitical foundations.

Summary
This volume brings together diverse yet interconnected studies that illuminate the profound interplay between history, politics, law, economy, and society. At first glance, the subjects may appear distant from one another; however, when examined collectively, they reveal the common thread of humanity’s ongoing struggles for justice, identity, and progress in an ever-changing global landscape.
