Description
Health systems increasingly recognize that the well- being of women and children constitutes the foundation of sustainable public health across the life course. Clinical effectiveness, rehabilitative continuity, and preventive strategies must therefore be integrated through multidisciplinary and evidence-based approaches. The present volume, Clinical and Rehabilitative Approaches in Women’s and Children’s Health, brings together focused clinical studies and rehabilitative interventions that address key health challenges affecting women and children from early life through reproductive age. Childhood health and chronic disease management represent a central pillar of this book. The chapter “Family, School, and Exercise-Based Interventions in Children with Asthma” adopts a comprehensive biopsychosocial framework, emphasizing the combined roles of family involvement, school-based support, and structured physical activity in improving disease control and quality of life. This contribution highlights the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and preventive rehabilitation in pediatric chronic illness management. iv Rehabilitative practices in women’s health are addressed through evidence-based physical therapy and exercise interventions. In “Abdominal Hypopressive Exercises in Low Back Pain Management,” the authors explore a non- invasive, functional rehabilitation approach that targets core stability, posture, and musculoskeletal health. This chapter underscores the growing relevance of hypopressive exercise programs in the management of low back pain, particularly among women, within both clinical and preventive care settings. Acute gynecological conditions and advanced surgical care are examined in “Laparoscopic Management of a Ruptured Tubal Ectopic Pregnancy: Case Report.” This chapter provides a clinically grounded analysis of minimally invasive surgical intervention, emphasizing early diagnosis, patient safety, fertility preservation, and postoperative recovery. The case-based approach reinforces the critical role of timely clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary surgical care in women’s reproductive health. The complex relationship between metabolic health and reproductive function is comprehensively addressed in “The Effect of Obesity on the Health Status and Reproductive Functions of Women of Reproductive Age.” This chapter examines obesity as a multidimensional health issue, analyzing its physiological, hormonal, and reproductive consequences. By integrating clinical evidence with preventive and rehabilitative perspectives, the study highlights the necessity of holistic health strategies to improve reproductive outcomes and overall well-being in women.
