We earlier reported the possibility of using mouse immune ascitic fluids (I.4F) for immunofluorescent staining with arhoviruses (6, 7, 8) We have now carried out investigat~ons on the use of polyvalent and monovalel~t IAF in studies ~vlth arbovirnscs, with the object of comparing the specific activity of IAF in direct and indirect immunofluorescenr stain- ing with that of IAF in other serological tests. The viruses used are listed in the tables. IAF were prepared according to the merhod described earlier (3). The specific activity of IAF was studied by means of the complement-fixarion (CF) test and the hacmagglutmation-inhibition (HII tesr. Imnlunoglobulins were precipitated 04 half-saruration with ammonium sulfate.
