In order to prevent cases of induced malaria from occurring in r e c i p i e n t s of blood transfusion, two approaches are suggested. One would be to give antimalaria therapy to a l l donors over 40 years of age living in former foci of quartan malaria o r , a l t e r n a t i v e l y , one could make a serological study of these older donors and only t r e a t with antimalarials those with high antibody t i t r e s .
