Excerpt: The Strengthening America's Communities Advisory Committee (the Committee) is hereby established pursuant to a February 9,2005 request letter from the White House Domestic Policy Council to the Secretary of Commerce (the Secretary) and under the authority of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (FACA) (5 U.S.C. App. 2). Objectives And Duties 1. The objectives and duties of the Committee are to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary, and to develop a comprehensive written report of policy parameters to assist in implementing the President's Strengthening America's Communities Initiative (the Initiative), including advising on its legislation, regulations and other guidance. The Committee's report may encompass all aspects of the envisioned Initiative, including policy findings and declarations, organizational structure of the new bureau, eligibility, program delivery, monitoring and performance measures.
